Dr. Nicole
Bentze is board certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family
Medicine and the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians.She enjoys caring for a variety of patients
ages 6 and up.Although highly trained
in the many facets of family medicine, her professional interests include
preventative medicine, adolescent care, women’s health, and management of
chronic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension.In addition, Dr. Bentze is on faculty at the
Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine/Bradenton in Bradenton,
Florida and FloridaStateUniversity,
College of Medicine
in Sarasota, Florida.
Born
and raised in New Jersey,
Dr. Bentze graduated Cum Laude from The College of New Jersey, completing a
bachelor of science in biology and minors in chemistry and bioethics. She
attended medical school at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
and completed a primary care emphasis osteopathic internship at Community GeneralOsteopathicHospital in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Bentze completed her family practice training at the Harrisburg Family
Practice Residency Program in Harrisburg,
Pennsylvania. Following
graduation, Dr. Bentze was hired by the Harrisburg Family Practice Residency
Program as a faculty physician, sharing her time between caring for patients,
teaching medical students and mentoring residents in training. In
appreciation for her outstanding efforts, the residents awarded Dr. Bentze the
prestigious “Faculty of the Year” award.She then completed a competitive post-graduate primary care faculty
development fellowship at MichiganStateUniversity
in East Lansing, Michigan.
Attracted to the south Florida area for its family-friendly
lifestyle and beautiful weather, both Drs. Nicole and Michael Bentze relocated
to the Lakewood Ranch area in 2004 and later joined Intercoastal Medical Group.
Now Dr. Bentze provides superb, compassionate care with the support of expert
specialists.
In addition, she has presented many lectures and residency curricula at various local, state and national medical conventions.
